How to make your Minecraft server private

If you want to make your Minecraft server private, and only allow trusted players to connect, you can create a whitelist by following the steps below:

  • Log into the control panel
  • Right under the console, click on Type a command...
  • Enter the following command:
whitelist on


Now that your whitelist is enabled, you can add new players to the list, including yourself:

whitelist add Potato


Just replace "Potato" with the player name you'd like to add. You can remove players this way:

whitelist remove Potato


Lastly, this is how you disable the whitelist:

whitelist off
