Automatic installation
Our servers come with a handy one-click installer, so all you need to do is log into your control panel, click on the Modpacks tab, select a platform to download the modpack from (right under Provider), search for the desired modpack, and finally click on the installation icon on the right. In case you can't start the server after the automatic installation process, just open a support ticket from your client area, we'll be glad to help you find the problem.
That's all, your modpack is now ready, and you won't need to check the rest of this guide.
Manual installation
If you are trying to install a completely custom modpack, not available for download on any platform, you can manually install it on your server by following the steps below.
Note: given that most modpacks are quite large, we suggest you upload them with an FTP client like FileZilla, Cyberduck, WinSCP, or any similar app. If you are not sure about your FTP login details, you can simply log into your control panel, click on the Settings tab, and copy all details under SFTP Details.
- Log into the control panel and make sure the server is offline
- Click on the Versions tab and install the server version required by this modpack
- Locate and open the modpack's directory on your computer
- Create a zip file containing the entire mods directory
- Upload the zip file to your server (again, we suggest using an FTP client for this task)
- Click on the Files tab, select the zip file, click on the 3 dots (•••) icon, unarchive the file
- Start the server again and wait until it's online, this may take up to 5 minutes
Warning: some client-only mods may crash the server. If you have installed a custom modpack, and it crashes at startup, you might want to make sure you remove all client-only mods from the mods directory.
